The XIE XIE concept store is located in the heart of Taipei, Taiwan’s capital, in the “Song Shan cultural park” district, renowned both for its modernity and for its cultural wealth. This store features and develops the creativity introduced by the XIE XIE tea brand. For its designers, the aim is to offer the public a place where they can relax by introducing a cultural area encouraging exchanges and encounters. Each month with a new theme, the concept store will propose discussions with new generation creators, inspired by the literary salons of the 19th century.
The boutique, designed by the Paris-based agency Active Creative Design, highlights 3 areas corresponding to the values upheld by the brand:
– a preparation area. Located in the centre of the space, it stages the preparation of hot and cold beverages according to methods complying with product quality.
– a library. Running the length of 3 continuous walls, it stages the original concept of packaging, the book to be savoured.
– a lounge area. This space invites the public to forget their hectic urban life by enjoying a moment of calm dedicated to reading and tasting.
To complete an innovating concept in tea tasting, the XIE XIE concept store also proposes an original approach to culinary design. Prepared by the Japanese chef, Atsuko Sato, a set of contemporary recipes, ranging from main courses to desserts and pastries, was specifically designed in harmony with the place.
Last but not least, the concept store is also a charity store. XIE XIE undertakes to pay out all the profits generated by the boutique to needy Taiwanese children, to guarantee them access to school canteens.
