For the Make it Design collection from Éditions Eyrolles, Kuei Yu Ho and Patrice Mugnier undertook an in-depth study of the way in which digital technology has been able to modify the practice of the different actors of contemporary design: object design, urban design, architecture, scenography , museography, live performance and brand design. The result is a complete work, designed for a professional and student audience.
The first part introduces the artistic, conceptual and technological issues which, since the beginning of the 20th century, have radically renewed the approach of artists and designers to creation. The second part offers a detailed thematic analysis of contemporary projects using the notion of interaction in a relevant manner. Far from being limited to a simple use of technology, they offer a reflection on the modes of production and the new uses linked to this discipline. Finally, the book confronts different points of view on creation through 5 interviews: artist, designer, scenographer, programmer, engineer.
The authors were responsible for writing all the texts as well as the graphic design of the work.
