The Heart Beats Lights project stages the confrontation between the intimate dimension of the human being with the collective dimension of urban space.
The device appears as a sculpture with a height of 9 meters. The metallic rendering of its surface diverts the codes specific to urban furniture, supporting a set of monochrome LEDs completed by a sound diffusion device playing on vertical spatialization. This multimedia sculpture thus offers perpetual variations fitting into the scale of the surrounding landscape.
At the base of the device, cardiac sensors allow two interactors to take control of the work. The beats of their hearts are amplified and serve as rhythmic support for a light and sound composition, a sort of ritual where the bodies of the interactors become an element connected to the entire sculpture.
